Lying is now a family value
Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman of the American Family Association, asked me to pass this along to you, because you "probably don’t understand how close the homosexual activists are to getting homosexual marriage legalized." [no emphasis added]
Activist Judge Overturns Marriage Laws; Homosexual Marriage Now Legal In All 50 States
How would you like to wake up one morning and learn that the above headline was the top story in every newspaper in America? That hasn’t happened—YET! But gradually, little by little, that is where we are headed. A similar headline will appear in your paper soon unless enough people send a message to their U.S. Senators!
The vote on the Marriage Protection Amendment (sponsored by Sen. Wayne Allard of Colorado), making marriage legal only between one man and one woman, is scheduled for a vote in the Senate June 6.
...How has a small minority of less that [sic] 2% been able to force this on the American public? One reason is that those who believe in traditional marriage have been silent.
It's the Homosexual Agenda, silly. But, if we're talking about 2%, it's best to point out the 2% of the states in the Union have same-sex marriage. And about 40% have constitutions amended to include bigotry and hatred. There's a lot of forcing of minority opinion in America, but it isn't gays and lesbians doing the pushing. That (eventual, except for the "activist" nonsense) headline that has Donald E. Wildmon so concerned will be a sign that we've returned to sanity, not that we've run from it.
The lesson? Mr. Wildmon and the American Family Association prefer majoritarian mob rule to American Constitutionalism. That's worth knowing, at least. Simple reasoning would've gotten us there, but proof is always useful. Except when it apparently isn't.
