... your cat needs to go on a diet. Behold Emmett's latest behavior:
Anyone have suggestions for helping a cat lose weight when there are 3 other cats in the house, so food needs to stay available? We need to strike the last requirement, don't we?

We've got four cats and yes, some are fatties, but here's what we do: we feed them individually. We don't leave food out during the day. We feed them once in the morning and once in the evening. Each cat gets his or her own bowl with 1/4 cup of food and whatever they don't eat after 15 minutes is taken away. It can be a hassle, but it helps us keep a better eye on their eating habits.
